Stop and Smell the Roses: Beautiful Gardens of Salem

This February, plan your outings for the 2016 spring season early. Your task will be a little easier with help from our list of the most beautiful gardens in and around Salem.

The Stevens-Coolidge Place offers a glimpse of life on an estate designed in “The Country Place” mode. In the period from the late 19th century to the early 20th century, European-inspired gardens accented the stately homes of prominent Salem families. Inside, houses were filled with findings from around the globe. House tours are not always available, so check before visiting. The gardens, however, are open in February and every other month of 2016.

The House of the Seven Gables in Salem, Massachusetts, is historically significant. One of its claims to fame is that the 17th-century home was frequently visited by Nathaniel Hawhtorne, author and cousin of an 18th-century owner. The house is wonderful, but the gardens are equally impressive. Lose yourself in the Seaside Gardens as you gaze at plants from the period in which the home was built. With the harbor as a backdrop, life in 2016 seems to disappear.

If February weather has you dreaming of walking through lush greenery, Salem Botanical Gardens is here to make it happen. Volunteers have been busy transforming the former Victorian Park Family Entertainment Center into a green oasis for all to enjoy. Plenty of events are scheduled for 2016, so bring the whole family to this lovely public garden.

Anyone can train to be a technician, but few have the talent to become an artist. That’s why Dr. Mathew is able to guarantee his cosmetic dentistry work for a full 5 years. If anything goes wrong with the work, Dr. Mathew will fix it free of charge, as long as you continue with your regular 6 month preventative care cleaning and check up for the duration of the warranty.
