Wedding Whitening

Jun 6th, 2017

On your wedding day, you want to look and feel your absolute best— after all, all eyes will be on you! In addition to impressing the person you’re preparing to say “I do” to, your teeth will be doing more work than you may think. Between countless photos and videos, grinning at every guest (even if you aren’t sure exactly how that family member is related to you…), and chowing down on that wedding cake, your smile is just as much a part of the celebration as you are. With all the effort you put into all other aspects of your big day, it only makes sense to give the same attention to your pearly whites!

Whether you’ve considered teeth whitening treatments before or not, your wedding is a perfect time to try them out. Professional whitening differs from over-the-counter treatments by being both effective and personalized. When you use over-the-counter whitening treatments, you risk having a smile that’s actually too white, causing it to look distracting and unnatural.

Natural smiles aren’t just one shade of white! They contain varying degrees of colors that may not be immediately visible to the untrained eye. When you use over the counter treatments, you could end up over-whitening your teeth, resulting in an opaque, toneless smile. Cosmetic dentists know how to create your perfect smile by finding your perfect shade of white, one that matches your skin tone and the whites of your eyes. Additionally, professional whitening tends to be much faster than over-the-counter whitening products – your dentist can whiten your teeth up to 10 shades in one sitting!

Professional treatments don’t have to happen in the dentist’s chair either! If you love the convenience of over the counter treatments, don’t worry: you can obtain a take-home whitening kit that is made just for your individual whitening needs.

The best news of all? With proper care, the effects of teeth whitening can last more than a year. So not only will you have the perfect smile for the wedding, you’ll be smiling bright through the honeymoon and onto whatever adventure happens next!
