Congratulations and best wishes to Charlie Peters, of Peters Farm in Salem, New Hampshire who celebrated his 100th birthday at the beginning of November. It looks like all the active work on the farm is keeping him well and young at heart.
Did you know that dental health also plays a critical role in your overall health and can provide insight into health issues related to nutritional deficiencies and other infections? Research shows that periodontal disease for example can be an indicator of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, bacterial pneumonia, and even stroke. While periodontal and systemic diseases such as these are not confirmed to be a cause of the other, it is believed that maintaining your oral health can be a critical aspect of maintaining your overall health and can be an effective preventive measure from systemic diseases.
This is just one reason why regular dental check-ups and routine hygiene appointments are so important. Give us a call to book your next check-up appointment.
If in the meantime, you have any unusual instances of bleeding gums when brushing, red and/or swollen gums, soreness in your gums or teeth, or any other changes in your dental health, it’s recommended that you reach out and get those symptoms checked to be sure it’s not an indication of something more serious.
Remember – behind every healthy body is a healthy mouth!
