3 State Parks Near Newburyport to Visit Before the End of the Summer
As summer comes to a close our dental team is trying to squeeze the most out of the remaining days. The state parks in and around Newburyport offer a great opportunity to get some last minute kayaking, swimming, or hiking in before the weather becomes colder.
Salisbury Beach State Reservation
Soon the waters will be too cold for swimming so it’s best to take advantage of them while you can. Salisbury Beach State Reservation offers visitors the options to swim, boat, kayak, and even ride on horseback.
This reservation is in Salisbury, MA, only 15 minutes away from Newburyport.
Maudslay State Park
If woods, meadows, and rivers are more your speed, you may consider visiting Newburyport’s own Maudslay State Park. This park is perfect for hiking, picnics, and biking.
Sandy Point State Reservation
This beach is located on the southern tip of Plum Island in Ipswich. In addition to swimming and sunbathing, this location offers very nice views of nature on the drive over. Be sure to keep an eye out for wildlife including piping plovers and great blue herons.
